hand carved and hand painted black and white, solid wood duck sporting decoy, is unsigned. It features deep charcoal gray and pewter gray colors, a distinctive white enveloping band on the body and painted nail head eyes. The head is a floating head, meaning it's independent of the solid, most likely white cedar wooden body and was carved independently. It sits, levitating on top of the lower wooden body on metal fasteners. The paint is simple, yet sensitively executed, with the colors and markings of the duck being consistent with theAmerican pond duck. It was realized in the early 20th century somewhere between 1920-1935 and although it has some minor to even moderate paint loss in places, it still maintains its original integrity, charm and vintageAmerican folk art allure. Very nice, capable hand carving and hand decoration make it an attractiveAmerican folk art primitive duck decoy. Honest and authentic. Handsome. CONDITION:Fair to Good overall vintage condition.
